The day begins with a visit to a specially designed tasting area, where participants will have the opportunity to sample a wide range of local varieties of honey and olive oil. During this experience, guests will discover the authentic flavors of the region while learning about traditional production methods, the unique characteristics of each variety, and the importance of these products in the local Mediterranean diet and culture. Guided by knowledgeable hosts, this introduction offers a flavorful insight into the rich gastronomic heritage of the area.
Afterwards, we continue towards Mount Juktas, one of the most iconic mountains of the region, known for its unique shape and its connection to ancient mythology. We follow a scenic dirt road through the pine forest, surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean landscapes and panoramic views of the Cretan countryside. Our specially equipped SUVs ensure comfort and safety, allowing participants to fully enjoy this exciting off-road adventure while discovering the natural beauty of the area.
Next, we visit one of the oldest wineries in the area, where participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided tasting of local wine varieties. During the visit, experienced and renowned wine experts will introduce the group to the region’s rich winemaking tradition, explain the unique characteristics of the indigenous grape varieties, and share insights into the production process.
Last but not least, we arrive at the charming village of Archanes, located in the heart of central Crete and known for its traditional architecture, vibrant squares, and rich cultural heritage. Here, we enjoy a delicious local lunch featuring authentic Cretan flavors and fresh regional ingredients, offering a perfect opportunity to relax and experience the warm hospitality of the village. After this enjoyable break, we begin our journey back, bringing the day’s memorable experiences to a close.
