Our first stop is a traditional olive oil factory, where you will enjoy a guided tour and learn from local experts about the centuries-old process of olive oil production in Crete. You will discover how this essential element of the Cretan diet is produced and why Cretan olive oil is famous worldwide.
Continuing our journey, we visit a preserved section of the ancient Roman aqueduct, an impressive reminder of the island’s rich historical past. Shortly afterwards, the real adventure begins as we leave the main road and start our off-road experience, driving through breathtaking mountain landscapes on the way to the Lasithi Plateau.
Once we arrive at our destination, we visit the legendary Cave of Zeus (Dikteon Cave), which according to Greek mythology is the birthplace of Zeus, the king of the gods. The cave has been an important archaeological and mythological site for centuries.
Afterwards, we make a short stop at a local traditional pottery workshop, where you can observe authentic Cretan craftsmanship and learn about the island’s long pottery tradition. To complete the experience, we enjoy a delicious lunch at a traditional local taverna, tasting authentic Cretan flavors and hospitality before relaxing on the return journey back to your accommodation, bringing a memorable day of culture, nature, and adventure to a close.
